Did you hear the one about the UN....
One of my favorite drinking buddies seems to agree with me about the UN. He's just a little more vocal about it.
Way to go, Bob.

Let the UN Handle It
North Korea launched a missile that traveled over 2000 miles. President Barack Obama's response was that the United Nations should do something.
Sunday, before the launch, there was a United Nations EMERGENCY meeting about the impending launch, a launch the media has been talking about for about a month now. So the day before the launch, a month after the launch was announced in the media, the United Nations finally has an EMERGENCY meeting to figure out what to do and their response is: they couldn't decide. http://www.voanews.com/english/2009-04-05-voa29.cfm
So the launch happens, there is no response, and the president of what at one time was considered the most powerful nation in the world basically says let the guys who couldn't make up their minds yesterday during their emergency meeting decide what to do.
This is embarassing. This is not smart. If someone wrote this in a movie script, it would be classified as a comedy because no one would believe the premise in a drama.
Today North Korea learned something about their own missile program, and learned a lot about what they can get away with, with the rest of the world.

If the Stimulus Plan were a movie scene....
..it would definitely be the Blues Brothers mall chase scene.
Jake and Elwood are Congress. The cops are the taxpayers.
"They're not gonna catch us, we're on a mission fromGod Obama."
"You got us into thisparking lot crisis, now you get us out."
"Want outta thisparking lot crisis? OK"
"Disco pants. Haircuts. Baby clothes. Thisplace plan has got everything."
Doesn't John Belushi make a great GOP? and Dan Akroyd is a ringer for Nancy Pelosi.

Definition of Facism
From Wikipedia:
Fascism is an authoritarian nationalist ideology focused on solving economic, political, and social problems that its supporters see as causing national decline or decadence. Fascists aim to create a single-party state in which the government is led by a dictator who seeks unity by requiring individuals to subordinate self-interest to the collective interest of the nation or a race.
Fascist governments permanently forbid and suppress all criticism and opposition to the government and the fascist movement. Fascist movements oppose any ideology or political system that gives direct political power to people as individuals rather than as a collective through the state.
From Elie Wiesel:
"The fact is that Hitler was beloved by his people — not the military, at least not in the beginning, but by the average Germans who pledged to him an affection, a tenderness and a fidelity that bordered on the irrational. It was idolatry on a national scale. One had to see the crowds who acclaimed him. And the women who were attracted to him. And the young who in his presence went into ecstasy."
